Built on HV experience since 1971.
Founded by John Flint, grown with customers who keep coming back.
Starting out as a sole trader, John Flint formed the company in 1971.
He first served an apprenticeship with Eastern Electricity, then moved to AEI Tension cables, gaining experience of HV installations involving oil filled cables from 33kV to 275kV. A position as foreman with another contractor saw him coordinating several installation teams.
With the wealth of experience and contacts made over those years, J. Flint Electrical Contracting was a natural and sensible progression.
Starting with only six full-time employees and access to a variety of highly skilled sub-contractors, the company undertook projects including Luton Airport, BAE, M1 and M25 lighting and W R Grace (now Sealed Air Corporation).
The company became NICEIC registered in 1983 and limited in 1984, and has since seen regular customers return and rely on Flints as their installer and supplier. Over time it has evolved to suit the demands of its clients, providing not only LV and HV installation but also data, security and air-conditioning installations, as well as the supply and installation of more specialised equipment such as UPS and diesel generators.

In-house CAD
Every stage of a project, from survey and design to installation and testing, is supported by our in-house CAD facilities.
Accredited
NICEIC registered since 1983 (Reg No 014285000) and assessed under the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS).
